Debt Consolidation Texts and Calls won't stop
My husband and I are financially well off, but between the two of us, I am the spender in the family. I'm currently working to pay off some credit card balances and I took out a small personal loan for a small portion of the debt. I have been getting calls and texts nonstop about debt consolidation, and it's driving me up a wall. I just ignore them - don't answer, delete the voicemails, delete the texts. I haven't entered my information into any sort of search engine sites for loan consolidation, so I don't know why I would be receiving these, aside from them just being scams. However, my husband is now receiving calls and texts (all addressed to ME) about debt consolidation as well. He has screenshotted me text messages numerous times asking if everything is okay, or if I have any large balances coming due. I've told him I think they are just scams, but I think it's causing a lot of concern for him, because they are never addressed to HIM. If they are just scams, why wouldn't he also be getting the same kind of messaging?
What's even more strange is that my husband and I are not on the same phone plan, not even with the same carrier. When it comes to financing, the only thing we have done jointly is purchase our home. I've never used him as a cosigner on anything else, or provided HIS information on anything else that I've done.
So, 1) Why am I getting these messages?
2) Why is HE getting these messaged addressed to me?
3) How can I make it stop?
