equipping reagent bag

played classic a long time, new to retail…i got a bag for mining reagents and when i try to put it in the slot that says “equip reagent bag” it tells me “no equipment spot is available for that item”. so if i can’t put a reagent bag in that slot what is it for? am i missing something? character is level 30 if that matters. thank you in advance.
