Which endurance bike for a newbie?
I recently started biking for fitness and am up to 30 mile rides. Feel it is time to upgrade from my basic hybrid bike. Do not plan to race and am looking for something fun and comfortable that I can ride on 3-4 times a week while ramping up my distance.
With this requirement in mind, I have been looking at endurance bikes which are more comfortable and upright. Over the last few days I have test ridden a few bikes and found out that I like the endurance carbon fiber versions and really enjoy riding the electronic shifts. These are pricey features and I am above the budget I started with, but am down to these bikes which tick the check boxes while being reasonable.
I have ridden all of these (except for the canyon) and they feel similar in comfort for me probably since I am new. Since they are comparable I could just go with the cheapest option, but thought I would look for some insight here to help me pick based on some feature, component, quality or advantage I would oversee as a newbie.
- Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 LE ($3400)
- Giant Defy Advanced 1 ($3500)
- Cervelo Caledonia 105 di2 - 2023 ($3800)
- Canyon Endurace CF 8 di2 ($3400)
I was also looking at the cheaper Canyon Endurace CF 7 di2 ($2600), but not in stock right now.
Thank you!
