Reception on the beach?

Has anyone ever had their reception on the beach? At a private rental home or something? We'd like to have a very small ceremony on a yacht/sail boat and a larger reception (100 people max, ideally 50-75 total) but we'd love the reception to be on the beach. Just not sure if this is doable. We're looking at the gulf of mexico- tampa- Alabama gulf coast.
