AW3423DWF owners - with the limitations of this monitor, which option did you go for?

I'm on the fence about buying this monitor, as it's currently on offer for $850 CAD. From my research it seems one of the main limitations is that by default it just isn't able to do 10 bit at the max refresh rate. People have said you can do a custom resolution, but I'm interested to see how common that is.

Is 10 bit necessary? For anyone running 8 bit, did you notice a difference?
