Does UCF care about out of state prospective students?

Pretty much what the title says. I attended the Knight for a Day event today, and got a really bad vibe. The whole event was completely aimed at in-state students, and at the end of the financial aid presentation, when sent to the front after the presentation for additional questions, advisors just kept pointing me towards their superior all the way to the top, who seemingly tried to walk away as I approached and gave a very dismissive answer, obviously hoping to get done early to catch the football game(which is somewhat understandable, but kinda disappointing). However after traveling from the Midwest and being very excited about the thought of going to UCF. I left today without a lot of the excitement and a feeling that no one on the admissions/financial aid team wanted me to attend. They seemed to not care at all. Is this normal? Any out of state students have any advice? TL;DR-Went to knight for a Day, essentially blown off by university staff. Confused and disappointed and not sure what to think of it.
