Who's St. Chroma?

Love chromakopia, was hyped since the promo. Just a little confused about who St. Chroma is? Is the character purely for the aesthetic and music videos? The albums one of his most personal projects yet, so there being a VERY distinct alter ego is confusing, especially with all the promo.

Is the idea that, the cover art, promo, and idea that an alter ego exists IS the mask hes hiding behind.

Like essentially a false alter ego, setting expectations that we're gonna follow this character.

Thats been my assumption, but i cant help but wonder if theres more that St Chroma as a character adds narratively
