What was the author thinking or what is the context behind Pei Ming's Ho Ho...... that's not a normal reaction at all (by the way I love the reaction it's like one of my fav moments)

And I always assumed that knowing Pei Ming he was calling Xie Lian and Hua Cheng a hoe hoe but since many kids were present around he said Ho Ho
