19M old taking an hour+ to fall asleep
Hey all! I followed advice in the sub when my daughter was 14m and she was sleeping so much better! Now 5 months later we are hitting a bump!
She wakes at 7am, naps from 12-2, has settle down time at 5:30 (dim lights, minimal noise, quiet toys), dinner during quiet time, then bath at 7.
The goal is to have her asleep by 8pm. Her bath is usually done by 7:20 and she’s brushed and in bed at 7:25. This gives her enough time to roll around and get comfortable (or so I thought).
We lay in her room with her as we have been prior to this bump. Typically she would find her spot to lay and would be out in 15 minutes. We don’t pay or soothe her, she use to just soothe herself.
We have tried cutting her nap by 20-30 minutes, leaving the room (she just climbs out of bed over and over), starting the routine earlier & later, not being in the room with her at all. Nothing is helping!
It has been this way for 2-3 weeks now. I assumed maybe it was teeth but they have erupted by now.
She will roll around, talk, sing, whine, stand up, jump, and climb out of bed for an hour and a half sometimes even two hours. It’s like she gets a huge burst of energy.
Is my schedule not up to par for a 19m old? Is there something I should be doing differently?
