Can pest snails outcompete shrimp?

The bladder and ramshorn snails in our small tank always seem to be a lot bolder and happier than our cherries. I drop in some shrimp cuisine pellets and the snails slide over much faster than the shrimp and then scarf it down sometimes before they even get there. Same with bloodworms. I've been trying a Bacter AE slurry to at least defuse some food around for more biofilm. I worry that the snails are hogging all the good calories and nutrients.
