Debilitating headaches at 12 weeks. Should I get 2nd opinion?
Pregnancy headaches at 12 weeks
Hi friends.
I’m 12&4 with a baby girl and a FTM. I started to get headaches about 2 weeks ago that were so bad that I would wake up with them and fall asleep with them with no relief for 5 days straight.
I have taken Tylenol 3 times total but don’t want to become reliant on it or take it more than once a day and for more than 1-2 days in a row (preference due to some studies linked to adhd/autism with excessive Tylenol use meaning 8 days in a row or more)
My headaches have had my vision blurred and almost loss of vision in one eye for a minute and also the type and location of the headache changes. For example it could be back of head and neck and then it will be behind my eyes and then top of my head.
They pulsate. They radiate, and it’s debilitating me with work and home life. I have read that some of these symptoms are red flags and not normal pregnancy headaches.
My doctor essentially told me it’s normal and to take Tylenol and I can take it up to 4x a day.
I would like a second opinion, but I’m not really sure how to go about that. I just ask a different doctor within the same practice their opinion? Or do I go to a different practice entirely? Which would involve new patient appointments, etc. which just seems overwhelming.
