Reptile Industries

recently, my store’s shipments of reptiles has been dreadful. (for reference, im located in south east USA, and while not in the negatives we are getting record temperatures for this area. throughout this week our lows are in the 20s).

with the first shipment everybody was so cold i thought i had multiple DOAs. everybody had to sit in critter keepers behind pet care for 30 minutes just to not feel cold to the touch. luckily everybody made it, however our chameleon from that shipment got a mild infection from it. our most recent shipment came better packed with two heat packs and an insulated box. still though, most reptiles were cold to the touch and i had THREE DOAs. i was already upset about the first shipment, but in 3 1/2 years it was my first time seeing DOAs in a reptile shipment, much less three at once. (2/6 leopard geckos and a crested gecko from that shipment were all DOA. the crested gecko couldn’t have weighed more than 3g)

another issue that i’ve had with reptile industries is their “vet checkup” paper that comes with the PO. they always show completely inaccurate ages. most reptiles have their DoB listed as sometime in 2022 when we are very obviously getting in reptiles that are a few months old. even in 2022 when i was getting shipments from them, they all said the reptiles were born in 2020, so this is a consistent issue with them.

who do i get into contact with about this? i saw on fetch that i’m supposed to submit a vendor quality concern through riskonnect, but can’t find out how i’m supposed to do that. should i just email pet health?

thank you to everyone who took the time to read this essay of a post!
