The Mavs are currently 28-25 and sit at the 8th seed in the West. Their remaining SOS is 22nd in the league. Is it possible they fall out of the play-in entirely if AD is out for the season?

It's been reported that AD might have to get surgery for his abdominal injury which would rule him out for the season. The Kings, Suns, and Warriors are 1.5 games back of the 8th seed meaning they can close the gap very quickly. However, the Mavs have already made it this far without Luka for the last 2 months and they just added a valuable role player in Max Christie. Not to mention their favorable schedule for the rest of the season. On the other hand the Kings just added Lavine and a proper back up big in JV while the Warriors added Jimmy. It's tough to call so what do y'all think?
