Career advice wanting to work in mining - Mining Engineering

Hey everyone,

Apologies if this isn’t the right place to post, I'm not a frequent Reddit user.

I’m currently exploring career paths, and the mining industry has caught my interest. I’ve been looking into white-collar roles, specifically Mining Engineering, and I’d love to hear from people in the field about their experiences.

I just wanna figure out some things like how work life balance is with working in the mining industry and are there good job opportunities right now, or is the market tough?

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: by white collar I mean that I don't want to say that my job title is a heavy machine operator, I don't mind getting my hands dirty but I want a job where tertiary education is a requirement. Like a engineer or surveyor. Would like to hear what people think of those job roles.
