Future of Driving in Manchester - Thoughts and Predictions?
Pretty much there in the title - but just wondered what people thought regarding the topic now there's regular news by the M.E.N of cycle lanes being built in the city centre + clean air zone being axed.
For me its pretty clear the plan is to drive (pun intended) cars out of the city centre and make it akin to something like London central - Will it be effective? - The answer is almost irrelevant because once the cycle routes are there... you're not going to remove them 😂 but just curious if anyone else had any predictions/guesses.
There'll be disruptions but people will just adjust to the extra waiting time I think - I can't see it pushing people to cycle personally but maybe public transport if the alternative is gridlocked traffic for 2 hours?
I'm just spit balling but yeah - fire away!
