Really Indecisive - 14 or 16?

TL;DR: Haven’t had a laptop in a while, mainly getting one for coding (VS Code, maybe Xcode, Node, light VMs, Docker), general lounging, and streaming games from my PC (no Ethernet, just WiFi). Will use it at home, moving around to stay comfy, and want something good for chilling at night. Might explore doing some other creative stuff on it for the fun of it, or learn some more intensive development. Dealbreaker is if it would be uncomfortable to use in bed/on the couch (I like to sit in odd positions, or lean it on my legs with my knees curled up to me a lot).

Haven't had a laptop for a long time. Will be working on some code (VS Code at minimum, maybe stuff like Xcode as well, typescript, node, light VM usage - 24GB should be just enough for all this I think? -, some docker stuff, probably a fair variety of things + lots of tabs and extra virtual desktops), generally just moving around my place to stay comfy and not be locked into my desk so much, and just lounging around with it when casually doing other stuff. Chill out with it at night. And stream some games to it. Still haven't found the best solution to this besides GFN, am aiming to use my gaming PC for decent latency but it wasn't the best when I used Parsec for GTA when I tried it. No ethernet, just WiFi. But I've seen a lot of people have some seemingly decent success on here. Given I don't want to make my laptop my main gaming machine anyway, it seems viable, no?

I'm mainly going to be using the machine at home. I really do value the screen real estate, the 14 inch feels a bit small. It's nice being able to grab it and use it in any awkward position. But, the 16 inch doesn't seem too bad - and the screen is a huge upgrade. Form factor is the big concern for me, as far as weight goes, OK if I need to use 2 hands to move it around my place.

I'll probably not travel with it much. My big concern is - am I going to hate it using it laying down on the couch or laying in bed? I'd also really like to be able to use it in my lap in my chair at my desk while my PC is doing something else.

I have a nicely specced Windows desktop with a big 34" ultrawide and a couple 27" monitors as well. I don't plan on using the Mac hooked up to these displays often, if at all. So, maybe 16" has another plus point there. I also like to use popout video a lot when browsing around/doing other stuff on my machine, in general felt a little cramped using the 14". But I wasn't unhappy using it.

But yeah - Am I going to regret my decision when hanging out in bed just wanting to be comfy? If I am, I might want to reconsider. I'm thinking/hoping I can adapt. What's your experience/opinion - will I get tired of the form factor of the laptop trying to be cozy in bed? Or will I be fine and just enjoy the screen real estate a lot more, especially when it's time to wind down and just watch a show?

Specific model I'm looking at is the 16" M4, 24GB RAM (sure wish they sold 36GB w/o Max) and upgrade to 1TB SSD. A part of me is also worried I'll miss the responsiveness & other improvements from a newer OLED windows machine truthfully.
