Internet Connection to use Python

Hello. Soon I am going to be sailing round the world on a container ship for 6 months. I need something to keep me occupied on my down time and I thought learning how to code would be a good skill to learn on my own. Once Python is downloaded will I need an internet connection to use and code? I won't have a decent connection if any whilst out in the middle of the ocean. If so what is the best resourses to learn from whilst i'm out at sea. Preferably books. TIA
