I feel like social media has changed the thrill of First Day shows

I can't remember the last time I genuinely wanted to watch a movie on it's first day just for what it was—the teaser, the description, and the key people involved. The last time I felt that way was probably Irumbuthirai—right from the announcement to the teaser, I was hooked. Of course, I went for the first-day show! There have been a few other films where I went FDFS just to soak in the energy of die-hard fans going crazy—that’s a high I love.

But ever since social media took over, my reasons for watching a movie on the first day have changed. Now, it’s either about posting a story to show I was there or avoiding spoilers while scrolling through my feed. That pure excitement for first-day shows doesn’t feel the same anymore. Do you feel the same way?

P.S.: Heading to Vidamuyarchi tomorrow evening! Won't be opening Reddit until I've had my Thala Dharisanam.
