Breeding Experiment (ethical)

This summer I’m going to capture some isopods from my back yard and attempt to breed them. I want to get them as big as possible before it would lower their quality of life. Are there any tips tricks or tutorials for someone trying to do this? I’m going to log everything and release undesirable isopods back into nature.
