iPhone 14 Pro won't get new camera features even though they are completely software based and not hardware based
So the iPhone 15 (non pro) is essentially the same as the iPhone 14 Pro from last year (see compare table image); same chip, same camera system (except telephoto) and yet two really welcome changes "Super-high-resolution photos (24MP and 48MP)" & "Next-generation portraits with Focus and Depth Control" are iPhone 15 series exclusive. These changes are purely software and there is no understandable technical reason why they won't be coming to the iPhone 14 Pro.
I don't often agree with sentiments of 'Apple is just doing this to make money', but this one is far and away so obviously a play for more money and differentiation in a year when they didn't bring many new changes.
