Should I invest in an iPad?

To summarize my situation without all the personal details, I have a parent who is more than financially capable of buying expensive technology and is completely willing to. So, to be clear, money is not an issue here. I'm just unsure whether or not that automatically means buying the best iPad on the market because I wouldn't necessarily need it.

I already own a MacBook and an iPhone. I do most of my schoolwork on my Mac with zero issues, and it has not been until this point that I have considered purchasing an iPad. I mean, I'd like to have one. I think the aspects of note-taking, a digital planner, and all are nice to imagine. I see the appeal, I get it, and I'm definitely convinced; I just don't know if I really need it.

I feel like I'm reading too much into it because I start spiraling into who I am as a person and what my morals and values are. Like, just because I can get it, I have it? (This is probably just a product of my anxiety; I understand that.) I don't consider myself a materialistic person, but I feel like if I spend all this money on a device that is basically the same as my laptop, what does that say about me? I don't want to seem shallow, but at the same time, of course, I want the iPad. Who wouldn't?

Basically, I'd like to have one, but do I really need it since I already have an iPad that is perfectly fine? I'd like to write notes, plan, and read, but is that really necessary for something that’s worth this much money?

I feel like this is the stupidest first-world problem. Believe me, I'm not proud of it.
