iOS 16.4.1 making my 14 Pro hot while performing minimal tasks

I upgraded my iOS a few days ago when I heard that they were fixing an apparent security issue, and since then I feel like the phone gets noticeably hotter. I was just scrolling my gallery wanting to change my wallpaper and felt like it was getting warm. I had a Nomad sports case on and no other app running in the background.

And just now I wanted to check the time on my phone while it was charging and it was unbelievably hot, didn’t have any case on. I understand iPhones (and many other electronics) get hot while it’s charging, but it wasn’t this hot before the upgrade.

Not sure if it’s related or not, but my battery health went down 1% (from 99 to 98%) from last I checked it a month ago. Not really worried about this, but just thought I’d provide the info. Anyone else experiencing the same issues?
