Landed an offer!

Salary dropped recently because I couldn’t find work in my field and had to take on jobs well below my pay grade. That meant no nice things for my family for a year—no restaurants for my loving wife, Christmas present budget for my 5-year old son was limited to $35.

Just secured a six-figure offer with a Fortune 500 company that changes things.

Key for me was being strategic: I focused on jobs with low applicant counts where I could stand out as the best candidate. In total, I submitted 30 applications, got just 1 interview invitation and landed 1 offer. (Process was long! Took nearly 10 interviews with that company, spread over 2 months.)

I used to think I wasn’t good at interviewing and could only get jobs through networking—but that just wasn’t the case. Practice, practice, practice.
