Atenolol and hair loss??

I started Atenolol in January and noticed some thinning around April. Dermatologist said it was TE and not to worry. It seemed to kind of go unnoticed after that. Fast forward to last month I am losing all my hair and my temples are going bald. I’m a 25 year old female. I’ve read so many horror stories about beta blockers (ESP Atenolol) causing drastic hair loss.

Could it have taken all 11 months to show up this badly? If you stopped taking Atenolol (or another similar beta blocker) did it get better after?

*for reference I started a new birth control in July so I originally thought that was the hair loss culprit until I found out it was almost identical to my last one I took for years, so only thing could be the beta blocker???
