Cancellations to services between Glasgow Central and Ayr

Due to a person being hit by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning all lines are disrupted. Disruption is expected until 21:00 03/02.

Train services between Glasgow Central and Ayr are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..

  • Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.

Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..

Customers can travel on alternative routes.

  • Glasgow Central - Gourock & Wemyss Bay for Paisley Gilmour Street

  • If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

  • We have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes at no extra cost until 2100.

  • Click on the bus number for bus times.

  • 38/38A: Glasgow - Cardonald - Hillington East- Hillington West - Paisley - Johnstone - Milliken Park.

Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport.

We are operating a shuttle service between Paisley Gilmour St and Kilwinning calling at all stations.

x3 full size coaches expected on site at approximately 1915

Option 4 - Consider travelling later..

  • You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our service's return to normal.

  • The emergency services have declared it safe to run our trains between Paisley Gilmour St and Kilwinning.

  • Disruption to services may still be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.

  • We are currently unable to call at platform 1 at Johnstone. Trains can call as planned on platform 2.
