This surprisingly broke me ð
Was anyone else completely gutted when Lynx manifested his signet as a shadow wielder?
Violet: "I don't understand. You're our generation's shadow wielder." "Not anymore. Magic knows". Xaden's shoulders dip as he turns slowly to face me, his brow scrunched in apology before he schools his features. "He's the balance. " ð
It's such a small scene, but the implications of there being another shadow wielder because they'd lose Xaden was surprisingly devastating.
Xaden was also so nice to Lynx about it, so uncharacteristic for him! I could feel his grief in that moment ð
It also opened up the balance theory, that whatever signet they have will also be on the venin's side too. Terrifying that they could have a precog. Berwyn is their dream walker. Theophanie their storm wielder and distance wielder - does this mean another storm wielder will pop up? Or does it cancel out due to >! both Lilith and Theophanie dying!<?
So many questions. My brain hurts ð

Also, I'm super grateful for the help in clearing up the balance theory: If a signet gets taken over to the venin side, it just returns/manifests on the "light" side to retain the balance. It doesn't have to occur the other way round, so powerful signets on the light side don't need to manifest in dark wielders.
And also that Theo is likely just really fast, rather than a distance wielder. I don't need to panic about venin having 2 signets, phew.
