Am I overthinking this?

Right now I am near the end of my Instrument Training with a check ride scheduled with a DPE by the name of Mark Griffin out of KORL

I have tendency to look at peoples experiences with DPEs so that I can gauge their personality, testing style, etc

After checking out Mark Griffin online I seeing some mixed reviews some say he’s fair, straightforward and to just know your stuff and others say he has a “90% fail rate” and someone saying that their commercial oral with him took “7 hours”

I brought this up to my instructor and he assured me that he has heard good things from him and most importantly that as long as I study hard and know my stuff I will be fine with any DPE which I agree with, my instructor is very much against the whole idea of planning the checkride around the DPE rather than just studying to ACS standards.

I’m just a bit worried though about the negative critiques I heard about him and I feel like I have no idea what kind of checkride I will be getting myself into due to all the mixed reviews, and I really do not want to risk having a failure on my record.

So my question is if you were in my scenario would you

A)go with what my instructor says and just study hard and hope for the best

or

B) try to mitigate the risk of having a checkride with a shitty Dpe and and find a different Dpe on your own
