Torn between Alesis Nitro Pro and Roland

I've been playing drums on Rock Band using the ION Pro Drum Rocker off and on for somewhere in the ballpark of 10 years. I've always wanted to make the step towards buying edrums but it has never really been financially viable until now.

I will first note that I'm in Canada so I'll be spouting off Canadian pricing. The Alesis Pro visually looks very nice and is $850 CAD. However, I keep reading that Roland has much better resale value and better sounds. The lowest tier Roland I'd be willing to entertain is the TD-07DMK however this is $1,149.99 CAD.

The odds that I'll end up selling this kit are pretty slim, so I'm not super concerned about the resale value of it. However, the sounds are something I'm concerned about. The other thing I'm concerned about is the number of people who buy Alesis first and then later upgrade to Roland. There likely won't be any upgrading for me beyond maybe buying another tom and/or cymbal should the kit allow for it.

Another factor is I would like to go with double bass pedals at some point, Alesis comes with a pedal but the Roland doesn't which means I'd need to either buy a pedal or get double kick immediately. The same concern is with Alesis I'll then have a pedal that is useless to me once I acquire double kick.

If you can't tell I'm having hefty analysis paralysis, can anyone help me out?
