Can I use an eGPU through Thunderbolt 4 with my internal GPU for gaming?

Hey everyone! I have a question about expanding my computer's capabilities, and I want to make sure I understand how this works.

My setup: - Processor: Intel Core i9-12900H - GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (internal) - RAM: 16GB DDR4 - Thunderbolt 4 (TB4) port - OS: Windows 11

I'm considering adding an external GPU (eGPU), like an RTX 4080, through the Thunderbolt 4 port to boost gaming performance without having to buy new laptop or a whole new PC. Because I am buying myself a 4K TV ehich will basically be my monitor :v

Thunderbolt 4 should provide up to 40 Gbps, so it should theoretically handle an eGPU.

My questions: 1. Can I use both GPUs at the same time for gaming? Is there a way for my system to leverage both my internal RTX 3070 Ti and the external RTX 4080? 2. Is Thunderbolt 4 fast enough for gaming with an eGPU without losing too much performance compared to a desktop setup? 3. Will Windows 11 use resources from both GPUs in games, or will it just select one (likely the more powerful RTX 4080) for gaming tasks?
