Did anyone go with the top immediate only? Get the bottom (and top) finals after all the healing - 4-6 months later?
Unfortunately, I will need to have all my teeth extracted and go with dentures - I was hoping to save 6-8 teeth on the bottom and go with a partial, but that is not in the cards.
I keep reading how difficult the bottom immediate is - my dentist says the bottom final always is better.
So my question is: has anyone got the top immediate only and then the top and bottom finals ~6 months later. I have spoken with people who often only wear the upper when they go out, and I'd be ok with that for 6 months if I was going to have a better outcome with the finals and less stress / frustration / anxiety / pain / etc due to having a bottom immediate that was giving me issues.
I understand that eating might be a bit of a challenge, but I have an acquaintance with no teeth / no dentures who said the biggest challenge is biting something like a sandwich and eating crunchy or hard food (chips or carrots or the like). I'm fine with this, as going through winter, most of what I eat are soups and stew-type meals.
Also, I hate to spend so much on bottom immediates that I am barely going to wear / wear for such a brief period of time.
I spoke with someone the other day who had a top denture but didn't wear her bottom and I would never have known except she stated as much.
Is there anything I am not considering? My brain is all over right now.
