What’s the weirdest reason that made you decide not to date a person?

This is meant to be more lighthearted than our usual doom and gloom here. What’s the most random or weird reason that made you go “Nope—not for me” about someone?

For example: I once lost a crush on a guy because he said to someone else that he never understood why people thought a particular comic strip was funny. It was a classic strip that many people love. I wasn’t even part of the conversation—just heard him say this scornfully to someone else. I thought “Oh well.” Crush evaporated.

I had a good male friend that I might have considered dating but . . . I bought a household decor item that really made me happy and he saw it and asked about it. After I told him it was something I really wanted because it just made me smile, he immediately asked how much I spent and exclaimed how it was way too much for such a thing, etc. I immediately thought We aren’t even dating. Imagine if we were dating or married. Every purchase I made would be under judgment for whether it was really necessary or sensible . . . So I knew then and there that we would never be in a romantic relationship. Thirty years later, that household decor item still makes me smile, but I lost touch with that friend long ago.
