Am I getting played?

I (29F) went on two dates with a guy (28)who seemed perfect. On the dates he’s been very kind and respectful and we have a lot of the same interests and have read the same books. The chemistry was off the charts and we had really great sex after our second date. I very rarely feel a connection to someone AND find that I can have intellectually stimulating conversation with them. Needless to say I was really excited about this until he asked to reschedule our third date a few hours before the date. The communication has been off since then but he insists that he’s very interested and has apologized but then again rescheduled the date he set up next week, I’m very confused. Has his interest waned and is he just keeping me on the hook for validation? I’m so conflicted because on the one hand I had such a good time and really liked him but something feels very off. :/ Help!
