Buying a new bike in today's situation
I really don't mean to get political, so if this is crossing a line we can just delete this post. But as an American, it just feels kind of weird buying a new bike right now. After like 8 years of school and training, I finally landed a well paying job and I'm in a financial position to buy my dream bike. But even though I'm making way more money than I was a few years ago, I feel less secure and more uneasy about making a big purchase. It's like I go back and forth between feeling financially ready to buy a nice new bike and wanting to stash away as much money as possible in case I need to leave the country or just expecting some super crazy sh$! to go down where I need an emergency fund. I'm not exaggerating that my salary right now is 5x what it was last year at this time, but I feel more uneasy about everything today given the political situation. But I wake up every morning and question whether this is real life. Do any other Americans feel like this? Or am I just being paranoid?
Edit: Holy shit this blew up. Just woke up from a nap to about 100 messages. I pulled a night shift so maybe in my sleep deprivation I was feeling a little existential. Thanks everybody for the replies.
Edit: Pulled the trigger on the neew Scott Addict RC. Super excited about it.
