CR-V, Civic Steering Sticking but not in the Recall.....Yet
For everyone who has the sticking steering issues at highway speeds in the 2022-24 CR-V's and Civics that are not yet included in the recall. USA residents: Please report a complaint here https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index so that we can get some visibility and a resolution to this dangerous issue. Here is where to tell Honda directly. https://crmshonda.my.salesforce-sites.com/service/hondaw2c Honda filed a complaint against my dealer and closed my case as they said that the dealer is better equipped to handle this. Honda also replied in a separate email that pre my VIN# there are no campaigns or recalls on the steering issue. I have a 2024 CR-V that at about 5K miles the steering started sticking and jerking at highway speeds and has progressively gotten worse. The dealer in my area acknowledge that there is an issue but won't replace the EPS parts that are defective. Verbally they will tell me that mine isn't the only one and one week the service advisor told me I was the 3rd one to come in today. Unfortunately when I come in for service they will not document that anything is wrong in writing. Every other visit to this dealer they give me paperwork on the way out explaining what was done, fixed etc. The first trip in to the dealer they drove the car and did not make it out of the parking lot before the sticking/jerking started. At that time they told me they have the parts on order and would call me. Following up every two weeks I have gotten responses like the part isn't here, Honda is working on a solution, and if it gets worse just don't drive it. Here is one description of what is going on with the parts. https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2023/honda-sticky-steering-investigation-upgraded.shtml. I have been trying to get a resolution since Nov 2023.
