Prep Day Thru Colonoscopy: A Timeline
45/F getting my first colonoscopy tomorrow. To keep my mind occupied for the next 36 hours, I thought I’d start a little thread here with updates on the process.
Disclaimers: I won’t answer medical questions, as I am not a professional. I won’t justify why my doctor gave instructions that may be different than what you’ve been told. This is strictly a play-by-play to give one person’s experience/perspective. Otherwise, please feel free to ask/comment/entertain/keep it light/commiserate/send encouragement! 🙃🥰
To start out: - Colonoscopy is 6am tomorrow.
I will be taking Suprep (dose 1 around 3pm; dose 2 around 1am)
I was told to take Miralax powder (over the counter) twice per day for the past 5 days. Just had the last dose in my black coffee.
I have lived off Frosted Flakes, saltines, egg whites, broth, sugar free lemon jello, cream of rice, etc the past few days. I normally am a high fiber-high protein (veg/fruit/whole grains) pescatarian, so this has been a weird few days. The loose stools began day 3 of Miralax, but doc said I had to keep at it, with the last bit this morning.
Stomach making lots of noises- but maybe because I attempted drinking Sprite Zero yesterday- and I never drink carbonation. Lesson learned. Going to make another container of jello before working from home begins shortly.
