Vocal minority of the community seems unhinged

I’ve been going through & listening to reviews on YouTube today. Whenever there’s a a positive review people in the comments become absolutely vicious. The manner in which they speak sounds way too serious for the reception of a video game. It reminds me of cultish behavior I see in communities like certain celebrity fans & politics.

More so than anything it reminds me of the culture keyboard warriors that have become an obnoxious sub culture within gaming, championing an immature conservatism to go off on all things that provoke the insecurities of their identity politics. I first saw an up tick in this kind of behavior after the Harriet Tubman video, it reminded me of the assassins creed response.

It all has me wondering, how much criticism of the game is genuinely from real critiques such as AI, UI & business models - and how much these factors are being amplified by these obnoxious perpetually online demographics for the sake of their sad crusade against perceived ‘woke’ games.
