I've seen so many posts about office baby showers, and someone in my office shared shower photos with us today...
The photos were from my colleague's first and second puppy showers at our office.
Yes, we hold pet showers when someone adds a new furry, scaly, webby, hairy, or feathery friend to their family.
The colleague I mentioned is retiring, so everyone was looking through (and sharing) photos from her 20+ years at the office, and there were so many from her first and second puppy showers. She does not have human children.
We have a department of ~30 people, and all but two are women of various ages... yet most of us don't have human children. However, we DO have an entire wall in the office dedicated to photos of our pets. Once, a colleague posted a photo of her child in an animal costume, and someone moved it to the bottom corner of the wall and covered it with other photos.
I sympathize with those of you being roped into office baby showers, and I thought I'd share some childfree joy from my workplace. Long live the pets!
