Hair & Wigs

I am going to opt to do the cooling cap during chemo but I still have a 53% chance of losing at least half of my hair. My hair now is very straight and comes down to my lower back, it's very long. I'm thinking I want to cut it so I can have a wig made of my own hair. I start chemo the week of the 17th so want to get my haircut next week if I'm going to. Looking for hairstyle ideas. Did you cut your hair and find it easier to manage in any way or even look better as growing back out? As shallow as it is, this is the thing I'm most worried about during chemo. I spent 4 years growing my hair out this long, very sad to lose it. I can handle being sick for a little while but losing my hair for a year plus... it's just heartbreaking. How'd you style your hair?

Also if anyone did cold capping... looking for feedback on a machine one versus manual.
