Aiming in this game

I've been playing around with aiming in this game so much because the game feels atrocious. Dynamic feels too inconsistent and linear doesn't feel too great. Ran linear for a while but had to ditch it in the end. Used standard on an .80 slope scale last night and it felt amazing. Was a few kills away from a nuke. Logged on today and aiming is all over the place again as if I changed something.

Am I just messing around with settings too much and making a mess of my muscle memory? I'm not bad at cod by any means, this game just has me in shambles.
