Fanfiction Story: “Bleach: Sunrise Principle” #4: Greatest Entertainment and Blazing Hearts

Yuko, her Zanpakutō’s Shikai now released, lunged towards Bazz-B swinging Chikui Ōgama down at the apex of her leap causing it to hit him directly. Bazz-B just barely managed to react in time, reinforcing his arm with Blut Vene — the signature glowing blue lines spreading across it around where Yuko’s scythe had impacted — raised it to meet the attack. Though he had managed to defend against the brunt of the attack it still managed to push him back just enough for Yuko to land a swift kick squarely into his stomach blasting him backwards and onto his ass.

“Damn… You, you’re actually pretty good!” He said, using his right sleeve to wipe the saliva from his mouth. It was then that he noticed that he was bleeding. “Being knocked down must’ve given her the chance to get through my Blut and cut me with that scythe of hers” He thought to himself as he used a single finger to cauterise the wound his face just barely wincing with pain as he did so. Looking at the scythe he could’ve sworn the blade had gotten larger as if it had absorbed his blood it had shed.

Now it was his turn for a counterattack. He readied into a stance that resembled an archery pose as blue light, Reishi, began taking form in his grip until it swiftly, almost too swiftly to catch, took the form of a bow. It’s arms resembling roaring flames. Just as quickly as he had formed it, Bazz-B launched an arrow straight toward Yuko. “Have a taste of my Heilig Pfeil!” He laughed, his expression a mix of anger and excitement. Anger at getting embarrassed like he was just moments ago and excitement at the fact that this newbie isn’t quite as weak as he expected.

Yuko, though surprised by the sudden arrow flying towards her at high speeds, managed to make a quick leap up into the air just in time to avoid it, the arrow hitting a piece of training equipment behind her and reducing it to smithereens. As she neared the peak of her jump Yuko flipped over, bringing her foot plummeting back down towards Bazz-B’s head. The sudden impact of her foot sending his head crashing into the ground, leaving a decently sized crater in the floor. The impact was accompanied by a rather sickening crunching sound as Bazz-B’s head was buried in the floor.

Much to Yuko’s surprise, Bazz-B pulled himself back up and fixed his neck by grabbing his head and twisting it. The signature blue lines of Blut Vene once again showing, this time around his neck. Yuko didn’t know what Blut Vene was but she could tell that these strange glowing lines that kept showing up on Bazz-B’s body were making her attacks not work as well as they should have been. It infuriated her to no end but it also made her excited. It filled her with a childlike glee. The kind you’d expect from a child who received a new toy on Christmas Day, not someone who’s in the middle of a battle.

Bazz-B was second guessing himself on whether fighting this kid was a good idea after all. From the look on her face this was just a game to her. He honestly wasn’t sure how he felt about the idea that she was treating him like a new toy so he decided to kick things up a notch. The arrows on one of his gloves’ fingers started glowing with an intense heat. “Burner Finger: One!” He shouted as he swung his arm down, a torrent of flame bursting from his, glowing, finger.

Startled by the sudden fire, Yuko realised she would not be able to dodge in time to avoid the full extent of the flames. So instead of dodging it she simply dove through it, fangs bared. Bazz hardly any time to react before it happened. He never imagined Yuko’d be crazy enough to do something like that. His eyes widened in shock and pain as she sunk her fangs into his neck, her hands gripping onto him like vices and her Zanpakutō strapped to her back had returned to its sealed state. That however, was hardly the most alarming part at all, that came when Yuko started sucking on his neck like a straw and drinking his blood.

Appropriately freaked out by Yuko’s actions, Bazz-B blasted her away with “Burner Finger: 2!”, knocking her down onto the ground and singing her outfit considerably. Yuko herself, however, as almost entirely unscathed by Bazz-B’s attack as she quickly hopped back up and licked her lips clean of his blood. As she stood up she has a rather indignant expression on her face as if she had been interrupted mid-meal, “Yuko was eating! Bazz-B’s blood was yummy! Let Yuko finish!” She shouted like a spoilt kid. She hardly gave Bazz-B a chance to react before she closed the gap between them and slammed his head into the ground. It was different than the last time. It was faster. It hit harder. It was as if drinking his blood had made Yuko stronger.

“You’re a damned monster,” Bazz-B groaned, his head still half buried in the ground. Unexpectedly as soon as he said that, there was a distinct and immediate change in Yuko’s mood and behaviour. She jumped back, allowing him to stand back up. His nose was broken and bloodied from the impact. That brief moment of respite was extremely short lived, however. As Yuko, her eyes filled with tears as she was beginning to cry, leaped towards and grabbed Bazz-B by his neck, slamming him into the ground, dragging him along and then throwing him directly into the wall. As soon as he hit the wall, Yuko continued her relentless attack. Not even allowing him the chance to counterattack or even breathe. Swinging her scythe down on him, slicing a large gash in his side, launching him down to the ground hard.

“Y-yuko… Isn’t a monster!” She yelled, her voice cracking with fear and anger. It was as if those words had dredged up some trauma she had been trying to keep buried deep down in her psyche. Bazz-B, now attempting to get back up, could tell that he had done something wrong and almost felt sorry for her. That however could wait; he didn’t have time to apologise right now. He knew that if he didn’t start taking this completely seriously soon… she’d kill him.

With that, he forced himself to stand up through the searing pain, taking a strange stance vaguely reminiscent of one used for archery. “I think it’s time you faced Bazz-Bro’s full strength, newbie!” He shouted, evidently still trying to get her to call him by the nickname, parts of the surrounding area breaking apart into their component Reishi and flowing towards him, it’s colour shifting from blue to a deep red. The Reishi forming a massive pillar of red light, topped with a large Quincy cross, that shattered with the sound of disembodied church bells. Stepping out from the, now dissipating, fragments, Bazz-B possessed a pair of large rod shaped wings made from the same red Reishi and a halo in the shape of a Quincy cross. “This. This is Quincy: Vollständig!” He exclaimed, his previous grievous injury seemingly fully healed, a genuine tone of laughter in his voice. “Oh and by the way, my one’s called ‘Maalik’” He added, seeming to want to let her know that different people’s Vollständig had different names.

Yuko could tell, from the immediate change in the room’s atmosphere, that this new form her opponent had taken was far, far stronger than anything he had shown thus far and wanting to also show off her own transformation, stood up Chikui Ōgama’s handle held tightly in her hands as she kept the blade just above the floor. “Bankai.” She said, oddly calmly, as she dropped the scythe to the ground it’s blade shattering and the blood it was formed from flowing around her forearms. Quickly, the blood resolidified, now taking the form of a pair of large, clawed, gauntlets. “Ryūketsu.” She announced, proclaiming the name of her Bankai, as she took a stance more closely resembling the posture of a wild animal than any fighting stance a human would take.

P.S credit to u/Regular_Budget1864 for helping me name Bazz-B’s Vollständig.
