Guest broke into locked owner closet

We have a 4bd beach house and Airbnb it on the weekends. I live there M-Th and have locked the right sliding door of the bedroom closet (there’s an internal divider so no one can get via the inside). My sliding door is basically seized and almost impossible to open, partly why I’ve locked it. There’s a sign in 1/2inch letters saying “private locked owner storage” immediately beside the lock. They ripped the lock right out of the wall.

I mean I’ll lock it “harder” with some additions- but that doesn’t solve the violated feeling. 100% not a mistake or accident. All the grubby fingerprints on that edge too. Nothing was taken that I can tell. But still the thought of some stranger looking through my undies drawer, ugh.

It is actually a break in and should have real consequences. It’s just so uncool. I’d like to share with the guest that they or their “friend” made me feel unsafe in my own home bc of what they did.

I’m considering my next steps. Any advice? The guest has 17 5-star reviews and has come across as very conscientious in our interactions. The house was left clean & tidy. I’m thinking about sending a note to them informing them of the break in and asking them for an explanation and apology.
