N/400

I’m so glad all this is over! Here is my citizenship timeline-

I wanted to share an update on my journey to becoming a US citizen. I've been a green card holder since August 2012, when I was just 6 years old. I renewed my green card once, it expired. At 18, I applied for a renewal and also submitted my N-400 application for naturalization on July 20, 2023.

Here's a quick timeline of my journey so far:

· August 3, 2023: Received receipt notice for N-400 application · August 2023: Biometric reused - luckily, I had just done this for my green card renewal, so I didn't have to do it again! · February 2, 2024: Interview scheduled for March 20 in Orlando · February 15, 2024: Interview canceled · March 5, 2024: Interview rescheduled for April 23 in Jacksonville · April 23, 2024: Passed my interview! The officer told me I'd receive a letter with details about my oath ceremony, scheduled for April 29. · April 28, 2024: Called USCIS because I hadn't received the oath ceremony letter - was told I was originally scheduled but was removed from the list due to capacity issues · May 2, 2024: Received new oath ceremony schedule for May 16.

-After a series of reschedules (like 8 times!) due to a possible system glitch, my interview was finally set for May 16.

The ceremony was held in a huge courtroom (not sure if they always do it that way, but it was impressive!) and it was a beautiful experience. I was honored to receive a special gift alongside another candidate, Otto, who was the oldest person being naturalized that day, while I was the youngest!

It's been an incredible journey, and I'm so grateful to have finally achieved this milestone. I waited 10 days to update my social security information and expedited my American passport, which arrives today!

I wish good luck to anyone else going through the process!"
