Are there any groups/organizations developing a more scientific / "evidence based" approach to class consciousness / class struggle?

So Marx definitely did a lot of awesome stuff with the tools that were available to him at the time and dida ton of novel stuff too, arguably being a godfather of stuff like Systems Theory. But in 150+ years we're developed a ton of new fields and certain things have also become fairly outdated/obsolete over time. I'm wondering if there's group out there working on using the most bleeding-edge and proven-effective methods out there to attempt to study exactly what the most effective ways of, say, building working class consciousness. Stuff that's mathematically rigorous and empirically well-founded and analytic, with less stuff like (honestly) references to Hegel.
