UCLA Transfer Strategy
I'm not too familiar with college transfers, but curious if anyone can give me some quick insights or suggestions for further research to get up to speed.
Say a California HS Senior is dead set on attending UCLA. Despite perfect grades, they don't get accepted as a freshman applicant. Would it be worth considering community college and applying again the next year as a transfer? It almost seems transfer admission stats may sometimes be better than freshman admission chances. Would the prior rejection be a factor in a transfer application?
At first glance it seems with enough AP credits, someone could meet the IGETC requirements and apply to transfer after just one year at CC? Is there some other obstacle I may be overlooking?
