What’s the craziest misrepresentation of something you’ve said to a class/student that later came back to you secondhand?

Here’s one: In a class discussing the 9/11 attacks on the 10 year anniversary, we discussed the mindset of terrorists and criminals. I said that the terrorists believed that what they were doing was right, which is why they did it.

I later got a parent phone call in which I was called a terrorist that is happy the attacks happened and why I would be so jubilant. Ok…
