Most supplements are poison

This is a message for this community, especially for the newbies, those who go cheap, for those who go solo with no medical advice and little research, those who want a quick fix, and for those who are desperate to find a solution to their ailments.

  1. The warning

Most of the supplementation industry is a huge scam that puts your health in danger

You do not know what they put in there (fillers, excipients, pesticides, heavy metals). Worst, probably neither they do, most of the time, sourcing their raw materials from who knows where with little to no control.

You do not know how the compounds accumulate and combine and how they mess with your finely, naturally tunned complex biochemistry. And you can get to a point of no return.

  1. My story in short

Out of desperation, I tried several herbal supps (gingko, boswellia, milk thistle, syllimarin, l carnitine, and bilberry). Antiinflammatory and antioxidants. Very low dose, but every day. Three months in: tinnitus, blurry vision, vertigos, insomnia, diahrrea/constipation, cracking joints all over. Other stuff I experienced: Eye dryness and redness, metallic taste in mouth, balance problems, kidney pains...

I do not know whether it was caused by the supps or not (perhaps my vit d severe deficiency is behind), but I will never know, and docs may not be able to tell me. Casuality and causality are not the same. But I never felt like this, and it all started while taking the supps or shortly after i stopped.

  1. Outro

I know many people benefit from them. I think there are good supps and brands out there that will help you.

I just advice to avoid them if possible, and to take only under medical supervision.

I may have messed up. I do not want you to spoil your health guided by desperation, false promises, ignorance or caprice.

Take care.

Your health is the most importand asset you have.

ps: the title may sound extreme, i know, but this is a necessary provokation.
