What does a Z-fighter do in this situation?

Am I getting out-classed by the cpu? Do I have a decent defense and the CPU is just reading me like a book? I’m trying to mix in some different counters to my arsenal instead of just pressing the right bumper. I’m also clicking the R3 and trying to press B for sonic sway but I can never time it right. Is there anything obvious that I should have done to get the upper hand or was the CPU just always 2 steps ahead?
