Do people with sleep apnea experience a different type of tired?

I'm diagnosed with sleep apnea, and have a CPAP, though I'm ashamed to say I haven't used it. Well, I used it once, and kept waking up with air blowing out my mouth. Nose pillows. Just got a full face mask so I'm gonna try that.

Anyway, is there such a thing as a "bad sleep apnea night" where you feel like a completely different type of tiredness? Sometimes I'll sleep five hours and feel sleepy but generally fine. Other times I'll sleep five hours, even seven sometimes, and feel legitimately awful, like debilitatingly so. It feels almost like a hangover, I feel this weird "dirty" feeling, like not gross but like dry or something. My head feels tense, not really a headache but real tension. Also anxious, and almost like a fluttery short of breathe type of feeling. And shaky.

It's I feel like it's completely different than just being "sleepy." I'm planning on using my CPAP tonight. I slept almost six full hours last night, which yeah, isn't a lot, but I feel like it shouldn't make me feel so shitty that I had to go home early from work because I feel like I've got a flu.

This has gotta be a sleep apnea thing right? There's no pattern I can think of, some days I just wake up and think "yeah, I must have had some bad apnea last night." Shit sucks, guess I'm gonna have to use the machine if I wanna feel normal.
