Advice....

So, I have a Shih-Tzu and he has a lot of hair and with the summer I want to get him a haircut... the temperatures do get high where I live so I want to do this as quickly as possible but I don't want him to get that 'summer cut' think that cut just makes every dog look miserable (talking according to my opinion), so can u guys suggest any cut through which he looks great or shall i trim his hair?
