Trying to upgrade my pc, would a 2080Ti be good?

Hey there, I have a GTX 1660 with a i5-9400F and wanted to upgrade, is a RTX 2080 Ti for £320 with a 5 year warranty good for 1440p gaming? And if so should I upgrade my 9400F to something newer to support it? I was going to upgrade to a RTX 3060Ti but the 2080ti has more vram and from bench markers it says it runs better on average, any help would be appropriated!
